Velingrad is the spa capital of the Balkans, up in the western Rhodope mountains, and there is no airport anywhere near it — a private transfer from Sofia Airport is the normal way in. We meet you in the arrivals hall and drive you directly to your spa hotel or guesthouse.
The route is ~130 km and takes about 2 hours: motorway as far as the Rhodope foothills, then a scenic mountain road through Yundola with a steady climb to around 800 m. In winter the last section can be snowy, so the transfer is done in a suitable vehicle with an experienced driver rather than left to chance.
